Hi. I'm Jim Moore and I am Scotland's Party DJ. Whether it's your dream wedding, that special birthday or an important corporate event, I will provide you with the bespoke service you deserve for such an important occasion.
We DJs are an egotistical bunch and usually like to give you our life stories on these about me pages but I'll keep it as brief by saying that as long as I can remember toddling around in nappies with a plastic guitar to Purple Rain on VHS, I've loved music.
The act of DJing itself isn't that difficult, in fact I could show you how to do some very basic mixing in a couple of minutes but it's not the buttons on the equipment that are the important ones to push - it's having the skills, experience and knowledge to push the right buttons with everyone on the dance floor and that can only come with years of learning on the job and a lifelong passion for all kinds of music.
As a professional DJ who is as comfortable performing in my local bowling green for a small engagement party, a large extravagant wedding in a Highland castle or a room in the Bahrain Crowne Plaza with over 1,000 staff for a multinational company's yearly summit - I have the musical knowledge, performing experience and utmost professionalism to make sure that you and your guests get the music and party that they deserve.
"You're more than we thought a DJ could be."
I currently offer a small range of packages which will suit most events and budgets and if you're looking for something that bit more unique you can add enhancements on to any of them and if you wish to extend your timings or have something truly bespoke in mind please don't hesitate to contact me for a quote.
As standard all of my packages include:
Award winning DJ at your disposal - Having been Highly Commended in 2018 and then winning the Best Dj Award at the 2019 Scottish Wedding Awards you can rest assured that you're in good hands. As a sole trader and one who proudly uses my name as part of the business, you're safe in the knowledge that it will always and only be me looking after you from your initial enquiry through the planning, big night itself and after the event. This is my 100% guarantee to you.
You at the heart of it all - Unlike many DJs, I limit the amount of bookings I take to a maximum number per month and year overall. This is so I can give each and every client the individualised service, time, effort and attention that they deserve. I also space out gigs so you never have to worry about me being fatigued or not giving my full concentration to your booking.
Online planning - Your Planner gives 24/7 access to my online planning tool so you can update your music and event details at any time taking the stress out of planning your music.
#LIVE - On the night your guests are given access to my #LIVE service which allows them to make requests from the comfort of their chairs, the bar or even when they're out having a smoke. internet connection required
Video montage - A short video montage of some of the best clips I am able to shoot on the night. See my Media page for some examples.
Pictures - As well as the video montage I take a number of photos using professional quality photography equipment (Nikon camera, lenses and professional editing - NOT poor quality camera phone footage unlike other DJs) which you can then view online. Examples can be viewed in my Media section.
Top quality sound - I won't bore you with the details as you're probably not interested but I use professional grade German speakers which ensure a great sound for even the largest of venues. The music source itself comes from two Apple MacBook Pro laptops via one of the market leading MIDI DJ controllers so the sound quality and reliability of equipment is never compromised.
The personal touch - A face to face meeting is included for all wedding and corporate bookings to go over the exact details of your booking shortly before the event. Within a reasonable travelling distance from Glasgow, I am also happy to meet with prospective wedding and corporate clients for a no obligation meeting to discuss what I can offer you prior to booking.
A massive choice of music - Over 20,000 top quality tracks from the 50s right through to the latest chart toppers. I also have a range of classical, traditional and orchestral versions of modern pop tunes for all day wedding bookings.
Back up equipment - I carry backup for every essential part of my rig so that in the unlikely event of a failure, the party won't stop. Indeed for first dances I have a 2nd system running simultaneously so that if the first should fail for any reason, you won't even realise it.
My unique set up - My rig provides a modern, distinct look that will impress you and your guests alike. Indeed I'm often asked for cards from venue managers and guests before I've even played a tune as they are so impressed with the look it creates and how it complements and enhances the look of the room.
Computer controlled lighting - As well as having some of the latest lights on the market, I control them using specialist computer software meaning I can create the perfect look and vibe for your event instead of just letting a bunch of lights go mad - potentially ruining the look of your gorgeous venue.
Games - If required I'm happy to do a number of party games including the Mr and Mrs game, various all guest ice breakers and if you want to get really silly I can even do limbo contests and a number of school games updated for a more "mature" audience.
Ceilidh set and calling - I can also play and call a number of popular ceilidh / Scottish country dances if you'd like. Unlike some who offer this service, I call (instruct) the dances for anyone who hasn't done it or is unsure of the steps instead of just playing a song and letting everyone fumble through the steps.
Professional contract - A professionally drafted contract all done online which secures your booking and provides peace of mind that you're legally protected when booking me.
Automated online booking - To save you the hassle of going to the bank or post office - if you choose to book I need some basic details to draft the contract and that's it. The contract is signed online and payments are accepted via BACS.
All required documentation - Some call it health and safety gone mad, I call it venues looking after the safety of their building, staff and guests. Many ask for a number of documents to be provided before they will allow a DJ to enter and set up. I can provide paper and electronic copies of all of these including proof of £10 million Public Liability Insurance, yearly PAT testing to ensure my equipment is electrically safe, an Enhanced PVG check as well as risk assessments and method statements tailored to each venue if required. You don't even have to worry about this, I will contact your venue in advance to see what they need from me.
Last and by no means least - Me. When booking Scotland's Party DJ you not only get all of my years of experience as a professional wedding DJ and corporate host, I guarantee that I will be the one dealing with you from day one through to performing at your event unlike some DJs who will "sub" out your event to a DJ you've never met.
